Quality Assurance Engineer – Holland, MI

Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Engineer role involves supporting and executing Quality functions to meet customer requirements. This position entails performing quality engineering reviews and audits of design documentation to ensure compliance with specified requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize essential AIAG quality tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC) to resolve quality concerns.
  • Manage both internal and external quality matters, including Fast Track Response and pareto analysis of defects.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customer support and investigate customer complaints.
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities, such as S.P.C. and capability studies.
  • Aid in TS-16949 activities.
  • Oversee customer quality systems and ensure proper management.
  • Address supplier quality issues and manage the Quality hold area.
  • Create and maintain approved PPAP status with all customers.
  • Evaluate products placed on hold and determine their disposition.
  • Organize necessary rework and sorting operations.
  • Support in resolving internal and external quality problems and implementing corrective actions.
  • Create, review, and update job books for proper documentation according to established standards and customer product specifications.
  • Implement quality problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5Why, etc.
  • Handle customer and supplier concerns in an appropriate manner.
  • Conduct random audits on problematic jobs and collaborate with Manufacturing Team Leaders/Managers for improvement.
  • Perform audits to support plant function.
  • Supervise and manage vendor quality control and the certification of measuring equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety rules and regulations.

Education / Skills:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) is required.
  • Recent experience in the Automotive Industry is a must.
  • Knowledge of TS16949 Quality Systems.
  • Experience with the APQP system.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  • Proven technical skills in product and process.
  • Experience in program launch within an automotive manufacturing plant.
