Production Chief Overview:

The Production Chief is responsible for arranging and managing the production operations of the plant to efficiently assemble high-quality products within specified deadlines and profitability.

Production Chief Job Responsibilities:

The Production Chief oversees all production activities for their assigned shift. This role has the authority to execute the fundamental requirements and duties as outlined in the organizational structure of the facility. These include but are not limited to:

  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives for production in a timely manner.
  • Providing management staff with reports on labor operating efficiencies and machine utilization.
  • Conducting performance evaluations for Production Supervisors.
  • Ensuring production, quality, and safety standards are met.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and implementing general 5S housekeeping activities on the production floor.
  • Assisting in identifying and resolving downtime by implementing 8D corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with the Operations Manager to make decisions regarding personnel responsible for product assembly and coordinating staffing schedules.
  • Actively resolving problems and conflicts.
  • Demonstrating positive management approach and actively participating in various meetings.
  • Directing and supervising Team Leaders and production Team Members to ensure accurate and timely completion of production and delivery schedules.
  • Establishing and maintaining safe work practices and emergency response capabilities within the plant.
  • Overseeing training and development programs for supervisors, Team Leaders, and Technicians to enhance their sociological and technological competencies.
  • Enforcing compliance with Quality Control standards and enhancing the company’s reputation as a quality producer.
  • Maintaining effective communication and counseling with all employees to foster understanding.
  • Managing employees in a way that promotes trust and integrity.
  • Analyzing production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to plant profitability.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Keen eye for detail and strong follow-through skills.
  • Previous manufacturing experience, including several years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in creating visual aids for effective communication.
