Cytology Technician

This position is full-time and operates during the first shift.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct examination of prepared slides with a microscope to identify any anomalies
  • Utilize diagnostic codes to report negative cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for further review
  • Maintain daily records of work performed
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Prioritize safety, compliance, and quality control

Your Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited cytology school
  • At least 1 year of laboratory training or experience in performing high complexity testing
  • Certification as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
  • Excellent reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Competency in operating general laboratory equipment, such as telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms
