Job Title: Product Architect

Location: Waterloo, IA

Salary: $65-85K

Job Summary: The Product Architect is responsible for overseeing the development of new product projects and collaborating with the APQP Engineering/Innovation Manager. This role involves close interaction with the APQP Engineering/Innovation Manager, New Products team, and other departments. Proficiency in electrical and mechanical engineering tools and computer modeling is essential for this position. The Product Architect will play a significant role in concept development for future product platforms, combining electrical and mechanical solutions into innovative electromechanical designs.

Job Responsibilities:

· Execute program and project deliverables in a timely and cost-efficient manner to meet customer and company product development goals.

· Conduct mechanical engineering analysis to support existing products and develop new concepts for improved functionality, cost reduction, performance enhancement, and simplified manufacturability.

· Brainstorm and support the innovative design of new products, incorporating new and existing materials, production methodologies, and technologies.

· Contribute to the generation of concepts by collaborating with all product lines and conducting thorough research on marketing, technical, economic, and manufacturing feasibility.

· Assist in project and program management tasks for specific customers, aligning with company product line strategies and developing innovative concepts and products.

· Investigate different materials, purchased components, and manufacturing processes to support concept development.

· Provide design and management support for programs and projects within the Corporate Technology workgroup.

Work with sales and customers to understand project requirements.

Utilize electrical and mechanical engineering techniques and analysis skills to meet design requirements.

Create design layouts, BOM, and drawing content for recently released products.

Education & Experience:

Proficiency in relevant software applications and computer skills required for job functions.

Experience with Creo/Windchill software preferred.

Basic understanding of design and detailing using Creo software and Windchill data management.

Comprehensive understanding of inertial calculations and tolerance stack calculations for product design and analysis.

Ability to conduct spring stress analysis and apply strength of material strategies in product engineering and design.

Skills in kinematic analysis, GD&T, reliability/confidence levels, and ECN activities.
