Job Title: Field Technician

Location: Hartford, CT

Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 per year, plus bonus

Job Summary: We are seeking a self-motivated Field Technician who can interact effectively with customers, write technical reports, and provide recommendations for product improvement to the Engineering team. The Field Technician will be responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems within the domestic and international markets.


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical field
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including domestic and international travel
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLC’s
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Windows environment and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clean driving record required
  • Comfortable working at heights

· Required experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity. Preference for experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms.

· Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel


· Regularly communicate with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors

· Schedule and coordinate participation of involved parties for equipment installation and start-up activities

· Coordinate internally to ensure timely response to customer inquiries

· Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment onsite and remotely

· Repair onsite equipment at customer facilities, both warranty and non-warranty claims

· Perform routine inspections of existing system installations

· Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines

· Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions

· Support project team in clearing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items

· Attend project and construction meetings as required

· Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel

· Act as troubleshooter for on-site technical issues

· Coordinate details of site visits with customers and end-users

· Arrange travel accommodations for field visits

· Provide technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering
