Job Title: Field Technician

Location: Raleigh, NC

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary: We are seeking a Field Service Technician who is independent, comfortable working with customers directly, capable of producing technical reports, and able to provide recommendations for product improvement to the Product Development Group. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of decision-making experience in a Field Service role
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (domestic and international)
  • Proficient in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLC’s
  • Ability to interpret and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable working at heights

· Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms highly preferred.

· Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport with proper documentation for international travel.

Responsibilities:

· Regularly interact with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors.

· Assist in scheduling and coordinating the presence of involved parties at the site for equipment installation and start-up activities.

· Coordinate internally to ensure prompt responses to customer inquiries.

· Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment on site and remotely.

· Repair equipment at customer facilities, both warranty and non-warranty claims.

· Perform routine inspections of existing system installations.

· Take responsibility for the proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in various disciplines and ensure the quality of work and reports.

· Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and equipment demonstration as per specifications.

· Support the project team in clearing punch list items and obtaining sign-off as per project requirements.

· Attend project and construction meetings, as required.

· Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel.

· Act as a trouble-shooter by analyzing and resolving technical issues on-site and providing support to customers.

· Independently coordinate site visits with customers and/or end-users.

· Independently arrange travel accommodations for site visits.

· Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities.
