Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Omaha, NE

Salary: $120,000-150,000 per year plus bonus

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Project Manager who can lead and manage assigned projects to ensure successful completion. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, adaptable to changing circumstances, and focused on achieving results. This position requires hands-on management and collaboration with engineers, technicians, and product development teams. Additionally, the Project Manager will travel to customer sites to support commissioning activities and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education
  • 3-7 years of experience managing and leading technical teams
  • Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) in Nebraska with ability to obtain reciprocity in other states
  • Experience with technical review and risk assessment for quotations and contracts
  • Reviewing and validating product designs to meet customer requirements
  • Ability to manage long project timelines and maintain productivity
  • Experience creating design standards
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes such as UL, CSA, NEC, and NFPA
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking and process-oriented mindset for continuous improvement
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide and internationally (approx. 10%)

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of engineers and designers to complete project-specific engineering tasks

Allocate resources, assess and mitigate risk, and meet project deadlines for technical deliverables

Review and approve technical documentation such as ECOs, drawing packages, and bills of materials

Ensure timely completion of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

Oversee large project and custom-engineered solution development

Coordinate with sales and project management teams to manage resources

– Review specifications and contract risks for quotations and large projects

– Validate design risks and ensure compliance with customer requirements

– Create design standards for transit systems and components

– Support research and development projects through design experimentation

– Monitor and manage department KPIs

– Review and address Corrective Action Reports (CARs)

– Conduct on-site inspections and support commissioning activities

– Coordinate engineering activities with Director of Engineering and Engineering Managers

– Supervise and provide leadership for the team

Responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating the team’s performance
