HR Manager

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the manufacturing industry.
This role is responsible for providing support, guidance, and overseeing all Human Resources functions at a manufacturing facility in Bryan, TX. The HR Manager will be in charge of developing and implementing HR programs, which includes employee relations, talent acquisition, training, communication, compensation, and regulatory compliance. In this position, the HR Manager will report directly to the Regional Director and work closely with the Operations Director on a daily basis.

  • Assist supervisors in maintaining positive employee relations by providing counseling and guidance, monitoring employee separations, addressing workplace issues, establishing plant policies and procedures, facilitating communication between management teams, and promoting open employee communication.
  • Perform various administrative tasks including public relations duties, attending staff meetings, managing company donations and sponsorships, overseeing the company uniform program, and representing the company in unemployment hearings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by developing and maintaining an Affirmative Action Program, attending training seminars, and conducting research to stay updated on regulatory requirements.
  • Support the recruitment process for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary positions by collaborating with recruiters, creating advertisements, coordinating staffing needs with management, scheduling and conducting interviews, and assisting in employee orientations.
  • Create and manage employee recognition programs, organize company events, and maintain records of service awards and gifts.
  • Serve as a resource for employees, ensuring their understanding and compliance with HR policies and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives that promote effective employee and management relations.
  • Provide recommendations to address potential problems and implement solutions.
  • Propose innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement and act as a change agent within the plant.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of plant goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Analyze key HR performance indicators, identify underlying causes of workforce issues, and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and manage department records and reports.
  • Actively participate in company-wide HR projects and meetings.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, if necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Compensation and Benefits team to ensure competitive programs are in place to attract and retain top talent.
  • Partner with the Safety department to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Perform any other assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications and Experience:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Possess 3-5 years of experience working in HR within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in HRIS, particularly Workday.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to lead a team and work independently.
  • Demonstrate excellent multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Strong phone etiquette and consistent communication skills.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage one or more Human Resources Administrators or Generalists.
  • Supervision involves monitoring work performance, making final decisions on hiring and disciplinary actions, evaluating program objectives and effectiveness, and adjusting work assignments and staffing as needed.
