Engineering Director

Applicants must possess experience in the food manufacturing industry. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.


This role is accountable for overseeing the administration of all Operational capital throughout the Company’s various locations. The individual in this position will be responsible for establishing the annual and three-year capital plans. They will offer engineering support and expertise when necessary to the operations and maintenance teams.


· Develop the annual and three-year capital plans by crafting engineering and maintenance strategies and process enhancements. This includes defining individual projects, allocating budgetary resources for projects, participating in project support meetings, and aiding other departments.

· Manage financial controls related to capital projects and assist operations and maintenance during project implementation.

· Create and implement capital projects by conceptualizing and overseeing the project plan, establishing theory and sequence of operation, determining necessary equipment, negotiating with vendors, coordinating with staff, and preparing capital expenditure reports.

· Oversee the management of Operational capital across the Company’s locations.

· Ensure timely communication, execution, and completion of capital projects within the allocated budget.

· Establish and uphold company engineering standards.

· Establish and uphold company process improvement standards.

· Promote and maintain corporate sustainability initiatives.


Minimum Requirements:


Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.


· Must have a minimum of seven years of food manufacturing experience, preferably in liquid batching processing.

· Experience in flour milling, dry mix manufacturing, and fresh and frozen bakery and sweet goods production is desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Must be able to travel regularly to all North American facilities, with up to 40% travel required.

· Excellent communication, coaching, and Project Management skills are essential.

· Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

· Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.

· Extensive technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes.

· Self-motivated, results-oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.


· Must demonstrate a hands-on work ethic and possess the ability to think strategically about capital projects and how they align with business objectives and strategy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing the performance of the Corporate Engineering Team. This involves making decisions regarding staffing requirements, enforcing disciplinary actions, developing and evaluating work objectives and their effectiveness, and adjusting project and staff assignments as needed.
