Seeking an Automation Tech for a company located in Carrollton, GA, that specializes in manufacturing. This position is open due to the company’s growth in robotic installations for the assembly process. The work schedule is from 8:00am – 4:30pm with a potential for paid overtime. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including a 401K with a 100% match to 5% and a generous performance-based bonus. Relocation assistance is available. The manufacturing environment includes die casting, stamping, and the assembly process with the utilization of Fanuc, ABB, UR robots, and Allen Bradley PLCs. This is a Level III role requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Job Summary:
The Automation Tech will be responsible for designing cells, end-of-arm tooling, and fixtures, as well as installing automated equipment. This position requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and facilities support. The primary duties include configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting robots and other automated systems to increase efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Level I:
– Work with pneumatics and principles of compressed air
– Work with hydraulics and principles of fluid mechanics
– Work with circuits ranging from 120 to 480 volts
– Assist in the construction of robotic equipment in collaboration with engineers
– Test robotic systems for proper functioning
Level II:
– Layout and install plumbing systems
– Use electrical test equipment and conduct ohm testing
– Install and program robotic equipment
– Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with robotic equipment
– Repair or replace defective components
Level III:
– Install air logic controls
– Troubleshoot complex hydraulic circuits
– Troubleshoot PLC systems using computers
– Install, program, and repair programmable controllers and other equipment
– Use fabrication equipment for maintenance tasks
– Operate and analyze robotic equipment
– Collaborate with engineers and production team for desired output
– Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
– Disassemble and reassemble robots for repairs
– Train others on installation, use, and service of robots
Education/Experience:
Level I – High school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of related experience
Level II – High school diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of related experience
Level III – Technical training certificates or associate degree with 6-8 years of related experience
Ability to read and interpret documents, perform basic mathematical calculations, and analyze problems is required. Physical requirements include manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
The work environment may include loud noise and exposure to heat, heights, outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
