Mobile Technician

Job Details for the Mobile Technician Position: We are in need of a Mobile Technician who can work independently, communicate effectively with customers, write technical documentation, and provide recommendations to the Engineering team to enhance product development. The Mobile Technician will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both locally and internationally.

Requirements for the Mobile Technician Position:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mobile technician role with decision-making responsibilities
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical engineering
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (both domestically and internationally)
  • Proficient in writing trip reports, test reports, corrective action reports, and return material authorizations
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLCs
  • Able to interpret and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint within a Windows environment
  • Valid and clean driver’s license
  • Comfortable working at heights

· Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, or TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.

· Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel

Responsibilities of the Mobile Technician:

· Regularly interact with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors

· Assist in scheduling and coordinating the participation of involved parties for equipment installation and start-up activities

· Coordinate internally to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries

· Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment on-site and remotely

· Perform repairs on equipment at customer facilities, both within and outside warranty

· Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations

· Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities and generate accurate reports in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines

· Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and equipment demonstration according to specifications

· Support project team in clearing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items

· Attend project and construction meetings as required

· Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel

· Act as a trouble-shooter, analyzing and resolving technical issues on-site and addressing customer queries

· Coordinate site visits and travel arrangements independently

· Offer direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
