Plating Operations Supervisor

OVERVIEW:

Well-established organization dominating a significant portion of the U.S. market in their industry, situated in the southwest suburbs of Atlanta, is seeking a Plating Operations Supervisor for their Carrollton, GA location. This role is essential to the daily operation and management of the plating department, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safety, production, and quality standards are met. Production planning and scheduling is a key focus of this position. The Plating Operations Supervisor will oversee a team of 12 individuals and work a day shift schedule from Monday through Thursday (with potential additional hours on Friday). RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, unless otherwise stated)

  1. Develop and execute daily schedules, optimizing available personnel resources.
  2. Ensure proper control and compliance with plating chemical processes.
  3. Identify and implement corrective actions to optimize plating processes.
  4. Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in electroplating, rack stripping, finishing, and product inspection.
  5. Possess in-depth knowledge of production plating processes and procedures, ensuring proper control and adherence to standards.
  6. Oversee the implementation of corrective actions to enhance plating processes.
  7. Coordinate and lead continuous improvement projects.
  8. Support the maintenance of quality system requirements in compliance with industry standards.
  9. Provide necessary training, work instructions, and control plans to plating personnel for maintaining process parameters to specifications.
  10. Ensure timely completion of preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
  11. Provide training to lab personnel on current analytical techniques and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred, focusing on chemical studies. Consideration will be given to those with relevant work experience in lieu of degree. Manufacturing Supervisor candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of plating supervision experience, while Manufacturing Manager candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience in plating within a manufacturing environment.
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  3. Proficient in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

The employee is required to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is also necessary.
