Safety Administrator

Job Summary

Well-known company is seeking a Safety Administrator in Indianapolis, IN to assist in fulfilling customer needs nationwide. This role, reporting to the Plant Manager, involves managing the plant’s Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure minimal impact on the environment and a secure and accident-free workplace. The Safety Administrator will oversee a team supporting EHS initiatives, deliver training programs to managers and employees on site safety, and cultivate an EHS culture throughout the facility. This position comes with great company benefits including a 401K with a 100% match up to 6%, an additional 3% contribution, a 15% bonus potential, and 168 hours of PTO per month (with accrual in advance). Relocation nationally is also possible for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all environmental, health, safety, and sustainable development programs.
  • Promote safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainability stewardship by analyzing current conditions and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, corporate guidelines, and applicable laws.
  • Assist with accident investigations and prepare necessary reports.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Facilitate Safety Committee activities, participating in subcommittee meetings and serving as a resource.
  • Coordinate initial Workers Compensation functions.
  • Provide necessary compliance training to meet OSHA, EPA, and company requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial safety experience.
  • At least 3 years of EHS management experience.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, federal, and state regulations.
  • Experience in risk assessments and audits.
  • Preferably, experience in food process manufacturing.
