Production Supervisor

Position Summary:

As Plant Supervisor you will be in charge of leading a diverse range of responsibilities including manufacturing operations, staff management, purchasing, warehouse, quality control and safety procedures. It is crucial for you to inspire and motivate your team to achieve the company’s strategic goals and enhance employee engagement. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing a lean (continuous improvement) culture and ensuring safety targets are met. Overall, your role is essential in driving operational excellence and accomplishing organizational objectives.

As Plant Supervisor, you will report to the Vice President and General Manager. This position is located south of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Some travel (up to 10-15%) is required. You will collaborate closely with plant teams, customers, and suppliers, and work across regions to achieve organizational objectives. We are seeking a strong leader who is comfortable engaging in the production floor and has experience in a unique manufacturing environment.

J Experience In the following:

  • Desirable to have at least two (2) years of experience in plant management.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of operational experience in industrial manufacturing, with a preference for expertise in manufacturing engineering, machining, and assembly.
  • Proven track record of achieving growth and profitability targets in operations, including cost reduction, increased efficiency, and improved quality.
  • Experience overseeing manufacturing processes in a high-mix, low-volume environment involving machining and assembly. Strong background in production scheduling preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general operations, lean manufacturing, and safety protocols.
  • Experience managing a plant or Value Stream/Manufacturing/Operations Manager for a plant involving industrial component machining, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, TPS, 5S, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and Theory of Constraints.
  • Extensive experience in facilitating manufacturing process improvement, managing budgets, enhancing facilities, reducing cycle time, optimizing workflow/layout, and capacity management planning.
  • Diverse functional experience within operations including manufacturing, engineering, materials management, supply chain, and quality control.

Education and Certification Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field
