Our office in Alpharetta, GA is hiring for two experienced Designers to join our company.


  • Completion of High School or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in the design and arrangement of electrical distribution and control systems for heavy industrial, oil and gas, refining, pipeline facilities, and chemical plants.
  • 2+ years’ experience using AutoCAD for the development or modification of electrical and instrumentation drawings.
  • Field experience in the related field environment and familiarity with the use and maintenance of personal safety equipment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and supporting startup activities of electrical control systems
  • Able to interact with the client (engineers, shop personnel, inspection staff, construction contractors)
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with electrical and power systems and equipment, including 480VAC, ability to read and understand electrical designs and schematics, identify and assess installed systems against approved electrical designs, and identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Thorough understanding of panel and field wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code (NFPA 70), NESC, and other electrical standards.
  • Experience and familiarity with designing for hazardous classified areas (preferred).


  • Contribute to the creation of E&I design documents such as I/O lists, control panel bills of material, control panel layout and wiring diagrams, and conduit & cable schedules
  • Contribute to the creation of electrical power distribution design packages including site plot plan layouts, single line diagrams, distribution panel layout diagrams, conduit and cable schedules, and miscellaneous electrical details
  • Participate in field verification walk-downs to gather information on existing site systems and to perform as-built E&I and power distribution design activities
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing of company designed E&I and power distribution systems (preferred)
  • Participate in start-up and commissioning activities
  • Keep the Project Manager and Senior Engineering project leadership updated on progress, issues, change order requirements, etc.
  • Travel approximately 25-50% of the time with a willingness to travel by air
