Group Benefits Account Coordinator

Mixed position with our client— a privately owned employee benefits firm in metro Detroit aiming to hire an experienced Account Coordinator. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of clients (25-300 members) with a diverse customer base. Accounts may be fully insured, partially self-funded, self-insured or captive. You will collaborate with a dedicated account team tasked with ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving issues, and retaining clients. There are no supervisory responsibilities in this role.

Primary Duties :

* Assisting new clients in getting started

* Responding to queries from clients and carriers

* Compiling RFPs and requesting census data * Facilitating vendor renewal request with Service Representative and coordinating the process with the agent to negotiate favorable renewal rates.

* Preparing Open Enrollment materials such as guides, checklists, forms, summaries, and webinars.

* Conducting OE meetings, health fairs, and webinars

* Participating in pre-renewal, renewal, and post-renewal meetings

* Overseeing Compliance & Regulatory oversight with clients.

Qualifications and Software:

Relevant experience in the field of group benefits.

Current Life and Health license or the willingness to obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Familiarity with Brokerage Builder/ZyWave software

Once the initial training period of 90 days is complete, this role will either become hybrid or remain 100% in-office (based on your preference). No required travel. WFH 3 days/week; in-office 2 days/week (Rochester Hills).
