Project Controls Specialist

The Project Controls Specialist will be in charge of leading and taking ownership of planning and executing capital investment projects related to controls and power. They will not only be responsible for their own projects but also for managing multiple projects in designated plant areas. This role also includes providing mentorship, training, and guidance to other project leaders and support members on site.

  • In charge of delivering assigned project objectives for scope, schedule, budget, and cash flow.
  • Ensuring that daily activities are aligned with the overall project priorities.
  • Understanding and adhering to all site EHS, engineering, and electrical standards.
  • Contributing innovative ideas to enhance safety, promote efficiency, reduce costs, and improve performance.
  • Providing support or taking the lead in replacing obsolete PLCs.
  • Engaging with operational teams and other internal customers to ensure the agreed objectives are met.
  • Collaborating with all levels of the operational team to gather input on project objectives.
  • Developing capital plans and budgets that consider cost and resource requirements to fulfill commitments to external and internal customers.
  • Supporting the annual operating plan process for the business unit.
  • Establishing and maintaining key supplier/contractor relationships to ensure consistent and reliable project execution.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of previous controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management experience and motivation skills across all levels of the business.
  • Current experience with Allen Bradley Compact and Control Logic PLCs, as well as Studio5000 programming environment. Familiarity with FactoryTalk ME and SE.
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Proven organizational and teamwork skills in a manufacturing environment.
