Plant Ops Manager Summary:
The Plant Ops Manager is accountable for the everyday functions at the facility. They are in charge of the production activities at the facility to efficiently build excellent products, ensure timely delivery, and stay within budget constraints. Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and have proven success in achieving sustainable and exceptional outcomes.
Plant Ops Manager Responsibilities:
- Accountable for achieving delivery, quality, and cost goals.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
- Provide management with labor utilization and machine efficiency reports.
- Conduct performance evaluations for the Production Supervisor role.
- Ensure compliance with production, quality, and safety standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure proper housekeeping on the production floor.
- Utilize 8D corrective actions to address and resolve downtime issues.
- Proactively resolve problems and conflicts.
- Demonstrate positive leadership and actively participate in meetings.
- Direct and supervise Team Leaders and production team members to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Implement and maintain safe work practices and emergency response procedures.
- Oversee the training and development of supervisors, Team Leaders, and Technicians.
- Ensure strict adherence to Quality Control standards and enhance the company’s reputation as a quality producer.
- Communicate and counsel with employees to promote a high level of understanding.
- Manage employees to establish and maintain trust and integrity.
- Analyze production to identify opportunities for improving plant profitability.
- Comply with all Company Safety policies, procedures, and rules.
Plant Ops Manager Education/Qualifications:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree.
- Recent experience in an Automotive Manufacturing plant is required.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to achieve results through others.
- Thorough understanding of financial and budgetary controls.
- High degree of professionalism and proficiency in organization, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to motivate and delegate authority to subordinates.
- Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with New Program Launches is essential.
