Pollution Control Project Manager
We are currently looking for a skilled Manager of Environment Projects in Air Quality to oversee and supervise air regulation approval and adherence projects in various sectors, such as energy, manufacturing, industrial, business, and transportation. This role provides a wide range of projects, chances for professional and leadership development, and opportunities for growth within a lively and expanding Air & Sound department.
As a vital part of our Global Environmental Services Division, you will collaborate with clients, regulatory bodies, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and national air quality laws.
Primary Duties
Lead the development and submission of air permit applications, such as Title V and state-level permits.
Conduct site evaluations and environmental audits to confirm compliance with relevant air quality standards.
Estimate emissions, covering regular, start-up, shutdown, maintenance, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Act as the main project manager, overseeing timelines, finances, deliverables, and client interactions.
Help in creating multi-media environmental compliance reports, including:
Plans for Preventing Stormwater Pollution (SWPPPs)
Plans for Preventing, Controlling, and Responding to Spills (SPCC)
Filings under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA)
Ensure compliance with company and site-specific safety protocols.
Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mentoring to internal teams.
Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or another related field from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant air quality experience (10+ years preferred).
A Master’s degree can replace 1 year of experience.
Demonstrated experience in environmental consulting, particularly in air approval and compliance.
Thorough understanding of Clean Air Act regulations, including:
New Source Review (NSR) / Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD)
National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs)
New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)
Title V and Title VI permits
Familiarity with air dispersion modeling tools (e.g., AERMOD, AERSCREEN, CALPUFF, VISCREEN, PLUVUE, SLAB) is a bonus.
An understanding of environmental sustainability or ESG reporting is advantageous.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Valid driver’s license required.
