Responsibilities:
- Location: Inpatient mental health facility.
- Position available as full-time or part-time.
- Perform thorough medical assessments, including initial evaluations within 24 hours of admission, follow-up care, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop integrated treatment plans for medical and psychological needs.
- Assist in managing patients with multiple medical conditions alongside mental health providers.
- Educate patients and families on medical issues, medications, and lifestyle changes for improved wellness.
- Provide medical consultations and recommend tests and treatments as necessary.
- Deliver emergency care within your scope of practice until specialized help is accessible.
Qualifications:
- License: Active Alaska NP/APRN license or eligibility for licensure.
- Educational Background: Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certifications: AANPCB Board Certification.
- Experience: At least 1 year of post-training experience in an inpatient or acute care environment preferred (background in behavioral health is advantageous).
- Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a patient-centered approach.
