Role Overview
As a Fire Safety Engineer, your responsibilities include designing, evaluating, and supervising fire safety and life protection systems for various projects. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to guarantee adherence to codes, top-notch designs, and inventive solutions. This position also entails business growth, client management, and leadership duties.
Main Duties
Develop and assess fire safety systems, such as automatic suppression systems, fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems
Conduct building and fire code analysis, including interpreting and reviewing compliance
Perform egress analysis, smoke control analysis, fire-resistant construction analysis, and general fire protection research
Lead and coordinate internal project teams to deliver top-notch, well-coordinated design sets
Manage multiple clients and projects while ensuring project profitability
Create project budgets, draft proposals, and support business development initiatives
Establish and maintain long-term client relationships and generate new client opportunities
Conduct research, compile technical documentation, and present findings internally and externally
Represent the organization in professional associations like SFPE and NFPA
Guide junior engineers and provide advice on technical and project management matters
Requirements
Must have Professional Engineer (PE) certification
Minimum 5 years of experience in fire safety engineering
Thorough knowledge of fire safety systems, life safety codes, and design standards
Demonstrated expertise in designing fire safety systems and analyzing codes
Exceptional written, verbal, and organizational skills
Proven capability to handle multiple projects, teams, and clients simultaneously
Strong skills in business development and client relationships
Experience in mentoring junior staff and leading internal project teams
