Location: Liverpool, NY and surrounding areas
Schedule:M-F 6:45-5:30 (flexible) Rotating Sat’s 7-11
Projected duration: 3 months + potential for perm

This is a floating position. Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Reimbursement for mileage provided.
Will float to the following locations:
1. Auburn
2. Watertown
3. Oneida
4. Ithaca
5. Syracuse
6. East Syracuse
7. Liverpool
8. Camillus

Perform phlebotomy procedures on individuals of all ages

Difficult vein access, urine, and thyroid testing

Processing of specimens

Attention to detail and relevant experience

Proficiency in computer use

Data entry and specimen processing

Minimum of 1.5 years of related experience

Summary: The primary role of a phlebotomist is to aid in various assigned tasks, provide solutions, offer training, and suggest workflow improvements.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, maintain records and cleanliness, update patient data, etc. Follow proper procedures for specimen collection and storage.
Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures as needed.
Use straight needles and butterfly needles effectively. Understand physicians' orders and match them with laboratory requisition forms. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as per test requirements.
Verify test requisitions and labels for accuracy. Prepare specimens for transportation and store them properly. Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations. Participate in annual department trainings. Handle phone calls and provide laboratory results to fulfill inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Phlebotomy certification in the state of employment where required. At least 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1.5 years of experience
