Critical Project Delivery Leader
A reputable firm in the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) industry is in need of a Critical Project Delivery Leader to oversee vital projects in Dallas, TX. The role involves managing all aspects of construction—from pre-construction to commissioning and closeout—while maintaining high standards in safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
This role is crucial in the successful delivery of fast-paced projects for clients in the hyperscale and enterprise sectors.
Key Duties
- Direct day-to-day construction activities for critical projects such as data centers and crucial infrastructure
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to OSHA and company HSE guidelines
- Supervise project controls including scheduling, budgeting, cost forecasting, and earned value (EVM) tracking
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for seamless EPC project execution
- Create and implement project plans covering scope, cost, schedule, staffing, and risk management
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships; act as the main contact for project delivery
- Lead subcontractor procurement, bid processes, contract negotiations, and change order management
- Manage contract administration including RFIs, submittals, change management, claims mitigation, and closeout
- Ensure compliance with permitting requirements, building codes, and operational standards for critical facilities
- Coordinate commissioning, startup, and turnover activities for critical systems (MEP, electrical, cooling, etc.)
- Monitor project performance and provide detailed reports to internal leadership and client stakeholders
- Enforce QA/QC programs to ensure compliance with design and operational requirements
- Supervise site logistics, materials, equipment, and field resources throughout various project stages
- Oversee project closeout, documentation turnover, and warranty processes
- Perform safety, quality, financial, and progress audits
- Mentor and develop project engineers, assistant project managers, and field staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 7 years of project management experience in construction, preferably in mission-critical environments like data centers
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects in fast-paced or high-availability settings
- Solid grasp of EPC/design-build project delivery methods
- Proficiency in project controls tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, cost management systems)
- Experience overseeing subcontractors, contracts, and large budgets
- Knowledge of critical systems (electrical distribution, backup power, cooling systems) is a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Understanding of project financials and basic accounting principles (GAAP)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements
