Summary
The Quality Engineer will bolster and ameliorate the plant's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 standards, customer quality requisites, and internal manufacturing protocols. This position will collaborate closely with manufacturing, production, and engineering units to elevate product quality, diminish recurrent issues, and steer ongoing enhancement initiatives across the plant.
This role is pivotal in leading internal audits, backing customer quality strategies, conducting root cause analyses, and executing corrective and preventive actions within a manufacturing setting crafting engineered polymer and plastics commodities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support ISO 9001 internal audits and quality system endeavors
• Maintain and support the plant's Quality Management System (QMS)
• Implement root cause analyses and steer corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Investigate customer grievances and oversee issue resolution for returned goods
• Execute product and process audits across manufacturing operations
• Facilitate quality inspections, testing procedures, and ensure precision in manufacturing documentation
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to advance process capability and product quality
• Support pilot runs and process validation activities for manufacturing operations
• Monitor and address repetitive quality concerns and manufacturing trends
• Participate in continuous enhancement initiatives targeted at manufacturing performance and product quality
• Aid in ISO surveillance and recertification audits
• Back quality training endeavors across manufacturing units
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of quality engineering or manufacturing quality experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience in leading or participating in ISO 9001 internal audits
• Preferably possess Internal Auditor certification
• Background in manufacturing quality systems and documentation procedures
• Proficient in root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methods
• History of supporting production and manufacturing in a hands-on capacity
• Preferably background in automotive, plastics, polymers, or similar manufacturing industries
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the capacity to influence cross-functional teams
• Ability to spearhead projects and enforce accountability sans direct authority
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline preferred
• Aptitude in effective problem-solving and thriving in production settings
Working Conditions
Full-time position onsite at a manufacturing facility producing engineered polymer and plastics goods in a collaborative plant environment.
