We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional in the field of biotechnology, looking for a Biotech Out-Licensing Manager in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing global strategies to license out biological and therapeutic assets.
This role is fully remote and welcomes applications from candidates across the United States. The company's headquarters are located in Maryland, and individuals in the Eastern Time Zone are preferred for effective collaboration with executives and core operations.
Vital Requirements
We are seeking candidates with recent experience in leading out-licensing deals within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. Previous or current formal roles in Business Development within a biotech or pharma firm are essential. Experience in other sectors such as CROs, medical devices, healthcare services, or sales will not be considered.
About the Position
The Biotech Out-Licensing Manager will be responsible for driving global licensing strategies, identifying key biopharma partners, structuring complex deals, and enhancing enterprise value through strategic collaborations.
Main Responsibilities
• Spearhead global out-licensing efforts for biological and therapeutic programs
• Identify and assess potential pharmaceutical and biotech partners
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis and competitive intelligence for asset positioning
• Negotiate licensing agreements, including valuations, royalties, and financial frameworks
• Develop and present business cases and proposals to senior management
• Lead term sheet development, due diligence, and deal execution
• Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, clinical, and executive teams to maximize portfolio value
• Monitor partner performance post-deal to ensure compliance
Your Skills and Experience
• Hands-on experience in biotech out-licensing as part of Business Development leadership roles
• Extensive background in biopharmaceutical business development and strategic licensing
• Proven track record in negotiating global licensing deals
• Strong financial understanding, including asset valuation and deal structuring
• In-depth knowledge of therapeutic development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategies
• Exceptional relationship management skills with a focus on results
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives with precision and confidentiality
This role does not involve commercial sales. Candidates must have executed biotech out-licensing transactions within a Business Development function.
