Facilities Manager – Personal Care Products Manufacturing
Location: Bedford Park, IL (On-site)
Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 base + bonus

Overview

A long-standing personal care products manufacturer is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee facility systems and infrastructure at a large production campus in Bedford Park. This role is newly established to provide specialized engineering leadership to a complex facility that requires expertise tailored to its needs.

The facility's operations involve the manufacturing of various personal care products on a large scale. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a deep understanding of industrial facility operations.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise all facility functions, including HVAC, building maintenance, and other related systems

Coordinate on-site contractors for various trades to ensure compliance with facility standards and safety regulations

Oversee on-site wastewater treatment systems and ensure regulatory compliance

Develop and manage budgets, scopes, and schedules for infrastructure upgrades and facility enhancements

Ensure adherence to codes, OSHA requirements, and safety standards within the facility

Identify and lead facility improvement initiatives from inception to completion

Requirements

BS/BA in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred; or equivalent certifications with 5+ years of facilities management experience in manufacturing

Minimum 7 years of plant or facilities management experience in a manufacturing environment

Previous experience in manufacturing is essential for this role

Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, boilers, and electrical systems within facilities

Proven ability to manage contractors from multiple trades concurrently

Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination

Preferably holds a Stationary Engineer license

Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and with diverse teams
