We are on the lookout for a skilled Estimator based in Nashville to take charge of our Civil Preconstruction Department.

As our Nashville Civil Construction Cost Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing, approving, and presenting competitive cost estimates for all our paving projects. Your expertise will directly influence the company’s ability to secure more projects and effectively deliver on those potential endeavors. We are seeking a qualified individual to lead and expand our preconstruction team.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and additional documentation to create detailed cost estimates.
• Manage bidding processes for both public and private sector projects.
• Determine labor, materials, and time requirements by examining proposals and blueprints.
• Solicit and assess quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior leadership.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as necessary.
• Offer value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating tools and templates.
• Provide guidance to junior estimators and contribute to enhancing processes.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as an estimator in the civil construction field.
• Demonstrated success in estimating various civil projects such as excavation, paving, grading, etc.
• Proficiency in essential software, preferably including Excel, Bluebeam, and other tools like HeavyBid, Bid-To-Win, and AGTEK (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong communication skills, business development acumen, and negotiation capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize and meet bid submission deadlines with a sense of urgency.
