Job Title Building Design Professional

SUMMARY:

Conducts structural engineering analysis and design to fulfill project and client needs in the mining sector by carrying out the tasks.

ESSENTIAL ITEMS:

1. Demonstrates expert knowledge in the discipline area

2. Achieves task or project time and budget objectives

3. Executes specific engineering assignments, adjusting data as necessary, and follows tasks through detailed steps or processes.

a. Accountable for structural design, criteria, and code compliance for entire structural systems or projects

b. Assists with initial structural layouts and beam sizing using experience

c. Helps with material take-off estimates for proposals

d. Communicates structural details and proposes framing solutions for structural systems

e. Understands material specifications and building codes

f. Develops and communicates structural details, connections, and alternate framing solutions as needed

g. Conducts structural analysis and design for various structures and equipment

h. Prepares design criteria including all loads on the structure

i. Prepares 2D and 3D structural drawings in CAD software

j. Prepares material take-offs and lists

k. Reviews vendor documents for structural components
