We are seeking an Automation Systems Engineer for a prominent technology company in Los Angeles, CA that specializes in innovative and sustainable building solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, sales teams, and engineers to develop advanced smart-building systems.

This position is fully remote with frequent travel across the United States, potentially extending to international locations as needed. Candidates must have existing authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

The primary focus of this position is on solution design and technical sales, emphasizing expertise in designing comprehensive building automation solutions and articulating their value to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct client meetings to identify operational and technical demands
• Architect complete building automation systems
• Create system architectures, integration plans, and technical proposals
• Integrate various systems such as HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management
• Collaborate with sales teams on proposals and presentations
• Deliver tailored solutions to enterprise clients
• Work closely with engineering and implementation teams to ensure project success

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in designing building automation or smart-building solutions
• Minimum of five years in building automation, IoT-enabled facilities, or building systems engineering
• Familiarity with BMS platforms, cloud-based building management solutions, and integration protocols
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, lighting systems, security, and energy management
• Experience in consultative sales, pre-sales engineering, or solution development
• Strong communication and presentation skills for client interaction
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or similar field, or equivalent work experience
• Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed for projects

Experience primarily focused on installation, maintenance, commissioning, mechanical assembly, or field service may not align with the requirements of this role.
