We are looking for a dynamic Safety Compliance Officer to join our team in Asheboro, NC.

This is a hands-on role for an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist who can establish solid connections with staff while ensuring safety and environmental adherence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day EHS and MSHA compliance efforts at both locations.
• Conduct on-site inspections, detect hazards, probe incidents, and oversee resolution of actions.
• Manage safety programs, track training records, maintain compliance schedules, and handle necessary paperwork.
• Assist with MSHA inspections, training sessions, task guidance, and hazard awareness training.
• Administer environmental compliance for air, water, stormwater, wastewater, waste, and chemical oversight.
• Prepare and manage essential reports, permits, sampling logs, manifests, and regulatory paperwork.
• Lead or participate in safety committees, toolbox discussions, employee training, and emergency readiness.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and management to establish effective and proactive EHS initiatives.
• Act as a primary contact during regulatory audits and follow through on identified issues and corrective measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of EHS experience within chemical, mining, industrial minerals, manufacturing, heavy industry, construction materials, utilities, or similar sectors.
• Working familiarity with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental compliance regulations.
• Experience in conducting inspections, hazard recognition, incident investigations, and corrective action management.
• Knowledge of environmental protocols covering stormwater, air quality, water resources, waste management, and chemical oversight.
• Excellent communication abilities and adeptness in collaborating with leaders, supervisors, and hourly workers.
• Valid driver's license and ability to commute between sites.
