Job Description - Infectious Disease Medical Director / Family Practice / Internal Medicine
Our Wellness Clinic is looking for a Medical Director (Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Infectious Disease Physician) to join our outpatient team in Arlington, TX. Join a team committed to serving the local community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Physicians in this position are responsible for providing quality care, meeting productivity goals, and collaborating with the care team to support patient well-being. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Manage a minimum of 14 patients per 8-hour shift (or 7 patients in a half-day session). Targets will be adjusted accordingly for extended shifts.
- Oversee patient scheduling to reduce no-shows and meet productivity standards.
- Complete documentation on the same day of the visit, or within 72 hours, with accurate E&M billing codes.
- Provide primary care services for chronic and acute conditions. Not limited to HIV management.
- Collaborate with front desk and nursing staff for urgent care patients.
- Review consultant reports, imaging, and lab results promptly.
- Process prescription renewals within 72 hours.
- Respond to voicemails/emails daily.
- Support patient retention strategies.
- Supervise mid-level providers and conduct chart reviews as required.
- Participate in after-hours on-call coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Must hold an MD or DO with an active medical license.
- Valid DEA registration and Furnishing License.
- Prior outpatient primary care experience.
- Ability to handle 14–18 patients daily in a team setting.
- Active CPR/BLS certification.
Education & Skills
- Doctorate (M.D. or D.O.); board certification preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply clinical information.
- Effective communication skills for patient care.
- Organizational skills with attention to documentation and follow-up.
- Mathematical/Analytical Skills: Proficiency in applying statistical reasoning.
- Reasoning Ability: Advanced critical thinking for patient care challenges.
